THE STAMPADO MALWARE GIVES VICTIMS 96 HOURS BEFORE IT STARTS DELETING FILES
The dark web has introduced yet another piece of malicious software only this one is rather different. The Stampado malware gives victims 96 hours to pay the ransom, if the ransom has not been paid, it then begins to delete a file every 6 hours in an attempt push the victims more. What makes this malware even more threatening then the rest is that it does not need administrator rights to begin infecting computers, and the fact that criminals can purchase a lifetime license for the software for just $50 makes the malware even more alarming. With the malware being so cheap it could mean that a lot of cyber criminals are going to purchase it and start spreading it across the internet, meaning that Stampado could infect a lot of computers. This isn’t to say that Antivirus developers aren’t already fighting the malware and updating their software to protect their customers. As always we advise everyone to ensure their computers are consistently updated including all programs, especially your antivirus. If you believe your computer is infected we ask you not to pay a ransom as this is only giving the criminals want they want.
